Title: The double page title is unconventional as it isn't in the top left corner of the page like people expect it to be. The title is actually in the centre of both pages in a bold font. It is placed on a bright blue background to make it stand out from the rest of the page and make it obvious that this is the title for the article.
Images: The key image to the article takes up a whole page. This shows that they are the main people that the article is based on. The people in the picture are holding a relaxed pose, this shows that the magazine takes a laid back approached.
Fonts and colours: The colour scheme on the double page is mainly blue, white and black. The editors have used blue to make certain things on the pages stand out. Such as; the title, features and what the band has said (speech). The article writing is black, they have done this so that the writing stands out from the black background. The fonts on the page are simple and easy to read, this is because the people that the magazine are aimed at (indies), tend to be laid back and calm.
Title: This contents page is quite conventional, in the sense that it has no “contents” title. A lot of music magazines tend to discard the title because it isn't important.
Images: There are 3 images on this page, one band, a cartoon and a celebrity couple. This shows that the music magazine doesn’t just include music. It has celeb gossip and TV things inside. This shows that the magazine producers have incorporated other features to target a wider audience. All of the images have a laid back pose, this helps to portray the genre of the magazine,
Fonts and colours: The colour scheme for this contents page is black and red. The red stands out from the black background and helps to capture the readers attention. The red background colours could help to represent the most important articles. The font is just plain and simple, which makes it easy to read and understand. This will help the magazine because it will make it a lot easier to read for all types of ability people.
Title: The title of the magazine isn't covered by the main image. This might be because the magazine isn't a well known brand and people need to see the whole of the title to realise what the magazine is called. But some of the subheadings and smaller images cover the edge of the title, this could show that the magazine is recognisable but needs to be clear for the wider audience to see what the name is. The title is spread fully across the top of the magazine. The colour of the title is white, this makes it contrast with the background of the magazines; which is black. This makes the title stand out which again suggests that the title needs to be obvious for the magazine to be recognized.
Fonts and colours: The colour scheme for the front cover of the magazine is mainly black, white and red. Red is used for the subheading titles, this is so that they stand out and make the reader want to read them further. The editor also uses this colour so that it stands out from the background but also blends in with the colour theme of the front cover. Black is mainly the colour of the background. This is a good canvas for the magazine so that all of the writing stands out. White is used for the title of the magazine and also the articles analysis’. This has been done purposefully so that it stands out.
Subheadings: The subheadings are all written in red and in capital letters. The red writing makes the subheadings stand out and attract the audience. The use of capital letters makes the articles seem important and want to be read. All of the attract the audience and makes the want to buy the magazine. The red writing contrasts with the background and makes it catch the audiences eye.
Images: There are 3 images on the cover of the magazine; the main image of Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan's album cover and a small image in the top right corner of the cover. The main image is of Pink Floyd’s face, the subheadings cover his body because it is only his face which is important to the article. The pose of the main image is casual and chilled-out. This shows us that the magazine I laid back. The model is in black and white, this makes it stand out because it is different and it also makes the subheadings stand out because they are red and contrast with the black and white background.
